The Firebird FH31 undoubtedly attracts attention, being in a wide range with other models of this brand. This knife looks beautiful, it is comfortable to hold in your hands, and the characteristics speak of the practicality of this model. It is intended for tourists, travelers, fishermen, as well as all lovers of high-quality and modern folding knives.
The blade of this knife is made of D2 steel. This alloy has a high carbon content, which made it possible to achieve hardness up to 60 HRC. Therefore, the Firebird FH31 knife remains sharp for a long time after sharpening. At the same time, nickel and chromium impurities in the alloy make it more resistant to rusting. This means that the knife will be easy to care for. For the FH31, Firebird pioneered the Wharncliffe blade shape. This made it possible to distinguish the knife among other representatives of this brand. The cutting edge is absolutely flat and smooth sharpened. The shoe drops sharply from about 2/3 of the length. A false blade is made at this point. The blade ends with a sharp tip.
The total blade length for the Firebird FH31 is 86mm. The blade thickness of this knife is 3 mm. At the final stage of processing, the metal was polished by satin finishing, so slightly noticeable transverse lines are visible on the surface of the blade.
To open the knife, just use the flipper. And the safety of working with it is guaranteed by the installed Liner lock. The design of this mechanism is such that a spring-loaded metal plate rests against the heel of the blade, preventing it from folding even under load. This is a simple but very reliable mechanism that will last more than one year.
The handle of the knife is formed by two pads of composite material, which is, in fact, a variant of fiberglass. He calls the G10. The shape of the pads is convenient for holding the knife in the palm and for long-term work with it. Their surface is textured to prevent the knife from slipping out of your hands. Slightly beveled edges of the overlays make the handle even more comfortable and original in appearance. there is a recess for a finger on the bottom side, and on the edge of the handle there is a hole for attaching a lanyard. The available handle colors are black and green. In each case, a metal clip is screwed to the handle, which the user can reposition to the other side.
