You never know where an enemy bullet or debris will come from, so it pays to take precautions to maximize your safety in advance. M-Tac brand has developed a new shoulder protection with ballistic packages 2 CLASS FOR CUIRASS, which significantly increases the area of protection of the fighter's body. The product is a compact shoulder module that provides anti-shrapnel protection for the biceps, shoulder joint, and arteries.
The shoulder protector is attached to the shoulder portion of the shoulder plate with Velcro. A plastic frame with a D-ring lock serves as a connecting element and helps to remove the shoulder system if necessary.
Special attention was paid to the anatomical shape of the product when developing the shoulder protection. The module is designed in such a way that the height of the attachment to the plate carrier is adjustable thanks to a vertical sling with Velcro. The shoulder protection is also adjustable according to the volume of the arm and fixed with a special horizontal sling.
Considerable efforts were made to maintain the maneuverability of the fighter when using the shoulder ballistic protection. This design does not conflict with other equipment elements and provides a sufficient degree of freedom of movement.
Shoulder protection is made of Cordura 500D and is completed with Class 2 ballistic packages that protect against ricochets and shrapnel. The armor pouches are made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and are STANAG 2920 compliant with a V-50 anti-shrapnel rating of approximately 758.6 m/s.
To understand the analogy of anti-bullet resistance, an armor package with a similar composition corresponds to class 2 (7,62*25 Pst) according to DSTU 8782:2018. Armor package of the 2nd class of protection withstands 9 × 18 mm, (9 mm Makarov), 9 × 19 mm, (9 mm Luger, 9 mm Parabellum) shot from pistols and carbines in pistol cartridges and 7,62 × 25 mm, (7,62 × 25 Tokarev). (Class 2 refers to the equivalent composition tested on 400 × 400 mm standard specimens. Therefore, an obstructive injury may differ in smaller size and shape specimens).
M-Tac shoulder protection with ballistic packs grade 2 for Cuirass is compatible with Cuirass tile wear.
