Advanced BurnTec first aid dressings for burns. BurnTec is CE marked and is currently used in European countries. This dressing differs from others in its stable hydrogel structure. The bandage is reinforced with medical grade non-woven material, making it comfortable to use. This stable structure eliminates the risk of spillage or damage to the cooling hydrogel. In other words, the hydrogel stays in place at the burn site and prevents the gel leaking from the body surface.
The composition of the BurnTec dressing includes an aqueous composition of natural and synthetic polymers, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyethylene glycol and agar, crosslinked by an electron beam.
BurnTec cools the damaged area and provides a soothing effect for up to 24 hours. The bandage prevents infection of wounds, stimulates healing, enhances the process of granulation and epithelialization of wounds. Prevents tissue necrosis during burns, cleanses the wound, removes fibrin and necrotic tissue from it due to absorption.
The dressing is permeable to water vapor and oxygen, but impervious to bacteria, which helps protect the wound from external contamination while allowing it to breathe. The material is biocompatible and does not cause allergic reactions.
BurnTec is a modern hydrogel dressing used for various skin injuries: first, second and third degree burns (thermal, chemical and electrical). It can also be used to relieve other skin conditions such as sunburn, abrasions, bruising, swelling, or insect bites.
Immediate dressing reduces the risk of hypertrophic scarring. Non-stick properties allow for painless dressing changes.
