The Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II flashlight was developed specifically for the army special services and, due to its design, has found wide application in various units. Equipped with LEDs of different colors for special tasks under various environmental conditions and operating time.
A distinctive feature of this multi-purpose flashlight is the ability to work with batteries in two formats: CR123A and AA. The Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II flashlight is perhaps the only flashlight where such an opportunity is provided.
The flashlight uses four types of LEDs: white, red, infrared, blue.
The Compact II Aviation model differs from the basic Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II model only in the presence of a movable diffuser.
A white powerful LED is used for various tasks when it is necessary to illuminate the surrounding area and distant objects as much as possible.
The red LED is ideal when local illumination is required. Red light does not interfere with night vision.
The blue LED is optimal for localized illumination in smoky and foggy conditions.
Infrared light is necessary in complete and almost complete darkness when working with night vision devices.
Particular attention in the development of the flashlight was given to the controls. The choice of the required LED is made using a rotary-retractable switch on the flashlight head, which has an auto-lock mechanism. Thus, random switching of glow modes is excluded. The company guarantees trouble-free operation of the switch even after 300,000 switching cycles. For additional information, the switch has a tactile infrared mode indicator. Also, the IR SAFE indicator is applied to the case, which is very important, since infrared light is in the invisible range, the included flashlight can land the batteries at the most crucial moment. Inclusion is made by the button located on the switch. For each LED, there is a choice of one of four brightness levels: 10% - 25% - 45% - 100%. The desired brightness level is selected by pressing and holding the power button. The modes change in the following sequence: 10% - 25% - 45% -100% - 45% - 25% - 10%. Each LED has a strobe mode, which is activated by double-clicking the power button.
Lightweight impact-resistant body of the flashlight is made of heavy-duty nylon polymer, which is a dielectric material resistant to many aggressive environments. The design provides excellent impact protection: the flashlight withstands a fall onto a flat concrete surface from three meters. The battery cover is securely attached to the case with a steel rope that can withstand loads up to 12 kg, which is very convenient when replacing batteries, especially at night. The design of the flashlight prevents the possibility of battery polarity reversal. The steel fixed 185° rotating clip allows you to securely fasten the flashlight to ammunition.
Designed with O-rings for durability and IPX7 water resistance (submersible to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes does not affect operation).
The unbreakable polycarbonate lens of the flashlight is protected from light scratches with a special coating. Modern polycarbonate is the most durable of all commercially produced transparent materials. A high degree of transparency, as well as a wide temperature range of application (from -40 to +284°F) make it an excellent material for flashlight lenses.
