Founded in 1885 in the UK, originally as Avon Rubber. With the growing demand for military equipment, it gradually evolved into a company specializing in protective gear.
Development and production of systems for protection against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats, as well as equipment for underwater operations.
In January 2020, Avon acquired the Ceradyne, Inc. business of advanced ballistic protection and the Ceradyne brand from 3M. Soon after, they acquired Team Wendy (a division based in the US), which produces high-tech ballistic helmets and accessories and is widely used by the US military and law enforcement. In 2020, Revision sold its helmet division to Avon, and the new brand was named Galvion.
The company changed its name from Avon Rubber to Avon Protection in July 2021.
In August 2024, the company changed its name from Avon Protection to Avon Technologies.
The company is currently known as the leading supplier of helmets for the IHPS (Integrated Head Protection System) program - more than 119,000 helmets for the US military.
