Brolis Defence is a Lithuanian high-tech defense company headquartered in Vilnius. It specializes in the development and manufacturing of electro-optical and laser systems for defense, security, intelligence, and surveillance. The company operates on the international market and supplies products to 38 nations: the armed forces and security structures of NATO countries and partners.
The history of BROLIS began in 2011, and just a year later, in 2012, the company established its own high-tech production and R&D center in Vilnius. Today, Brolis Defence Group unites Brolis Semiconductors in Lithuania and Brolis Photonics Solutions in the UK. In March 2026, the majority of the group's shares were acquired by the Danish fund ETNA Equity Fund; the company itself continued to operate under the BROLIS brand.
Unlike many brands that primarily integrate off-the-shelf third-party components, BROLIS creates a significant portion of its technologies in-house. The company possesses its own facilities for manufacturing and testing semiconductor components, utilizes molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE), and develops laser diodes, electronics, optics, mechanics, and end-user electro-optical systems.
The product line includes:
- lasers, laser target designators, and infrared (IR) illuminators;
- thermal imaging sights and LWIR surveillance systems;
- night vision devices (NVD);
- SWIR short-wave infrared systems (ability to observe through certain types of smoke and dust);
- electro-optical systems for intelligence, surveillance, and target acquisition;
- optical detection and laser radiation countermeasure systems.
BROLIS is a licensed developer and manufacturer of military systems, registered as a vendor with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), and holds NCAGE 0104R. It is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AQAP 2110, with personnel possessing security clearances to work with information of appropriate secrecy levels in EU and NATO countries.
