The Ultimate Series is Bronyx's top-of-the-line armor plate. Ultimate plates are made of advanced materials.
Bronyx Ultimate armor plates have 5 classes of protection according to DSTU 8782:2018 and anatomical bending in two planes (3d multi curved technology), which improves comfort in daily use of armor plates, because it follows the shape of the chest, provides maximum fit to the body and even distribution of the weight of the plate.
They have been demonstrated to withstand 7.62 x 39 mm armor-piercing incendiary (API) and 7.62 x 54 mm light steel-core (LSC) bullets at velocities of 750 ± 15 m/s and 850 ± 15 m/s, respectively.
The plates are made of a combination of layers:
An outer layer of ultra-dense, water-repellent, and moisture-resistant Oxford polyester fabric;
2nd layer of polyethylene foam;
3rd layer is made of ballistic ceramic (boron carbide - B₄C);
4th layer of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE);
5th layer is made of polyethylene foam.
Boron carbide ballistic ceramics have advantages such as low density (2.5-2.7 g/cm³), high hardness (> 2900 kg/mm²), elasticity (> 400 Gpa), bending strength (≥ 500 Mpa) and compressive strength (≥ 1900 Mpa), making it an excellent material for armor production. Low density and light weight are some of the key indicators for choosing boron carbide ceramics when it is necessary to reduce the weight of protection. At the same volume, it is lighter than alumina ceramic, but its hardness is several times higher.
With an average Medium (M) size of 25 by 30 cm, the weight of one slab is 1.86 kg.
This size is perfect for a chest volume of 110 cm (± 5).
It has a protection area of 7.1 dm².
The thickness of the plate is 22-23 mm.
The maximum unobstructed deformation depth is 23 mm for a 7.62 x 39 mm BZ bullet and 12 mm for a 7.62 x 54 mm LPS.
All Bronyx armor plates are manufactured at our production facilities in Ukraine.
Important! If the body armor cover does not have a damper pad between the chest and the armor plate, we recommend using a damper that is inserted under the armor plate in the body armor cover. It helps to reduce the hindering deformation that occurs when hitting elements with high kinetic energy.
