It is a simple but very effective device for measuring wind using a Kestrel 4500 and 4000 handheld meteorological station.
The portable Kestrel weather vane is an indispensable device for anyone who needs
to know the exact data on the speed and direction of the wind - from professional snipers and gunners to amateur shooters.
The weather vane is assembled in seconds and allows the device to rotate freely in the direction of the wind.
When combining this weather vane with a Kestrel 4500 pocket weather station (Series 4500 tracks wind direction),
you will receive a weather station that can record and keep detailed records of changes in wind direction and speed.
The weather vane is easily installed on the Kestrel portable tripod (or any other tripod)
and adds to your pocket weather station the ability to measure wind direction.
To measure the wind direction (using the Kestrel 4500),
the device must be installed so that the wind is blowing in its back side.
The axis and tail part of the weather vane allow the device to rotate freely with the lightest breeze.
The built-in level ensures correct installation of the weather vane and accuracy of reading.
