The original military compass Cammenga Corp. Model 27 is a standard-issue navigation instrument supplied to the U.S. Armed Forces. The manufacturer is the sole official contract supplier of lensatic compasses to the U.S. military, confirming the model’s compliance with strict military standards for quality and durability.
Model 27 is designed for field and combat use. The housing is made of durable aluminum with a shock-resistant construction capable of withstanding mechanical impact. Its hermetically sealed design provides protection against dust and moisture, allowing reliable operation in harsh weather conditions.
The compass operates consistently within a wide temperature range — from –45 °C to +65 °C — maintaining accuracy even in extreme cold or heat. The dial features phosphorescent luminous markings, enabling reading in complete darkness without an external light source.
It features a dual scale in degrees and mils, meeting military navigation standards. The design includes a built-in ruler, a magnifying lens for precise azimuth reading, and a nylon lanyard.
The set includes a nylon pouch with a snap-button flap and webbing attachment for mounting on gear.
