ARGUS PVS-31 3rd generation is a high-quality night vision device that implements all the main features and functionality of the prototype.
It is a fully functional replica of the PVS-31 night vision binocular. It has an ergonomic low profile design and provides superior situational awareness compared to a monocular.
It is made with USA lenses with PVS 14 and is a mixture of two common fixtures: L3 AN/PVS-31 and Act in Black DTNVG.
From PVS-31, the device received a body, all the main functionality and ergonomics, and from DTNVG - the concept of using the most common lenses from PVS-14.
In the design of this model, the fastenings of the housings are shifted back. Due to this, the center of mass is shifted closer to the helmet and it is not necessary to extend the attachment basket to the maximum, which provides additional convenience.
The plastic of which the case is made is similar in appearance and tactile sensations to that used in the original PVS-14.
The power button is located above the battery cover. The device is turned on with a long press (about 1.5-2 seconds), and also allows you to set the device to turn off automatically when you tilt it up on the Rhino Mount.
Battery compartment for one AA battery ("finger type", LR6). The battery cover is made of the same plastic as the instrument itself, in order to reduce weight as much as possible.
On the case on the right there is a connector for connecting an external power supply. Both the original L3HARRIS Battery Power Supply and its production units are suitable for the device.
The hull has the ability to adjust the center distance as accurately as possible thanks to two screws installed at the junction of the hull with the bridge.
Adjustment is approximately 4-5 millimeters in each direction. Lenses (front lenses) are installed from PVS-14 and have the same functionality.
The thread for installing the lens is made at a high level.
Lens focus lock rings (Infinity focus lock ring)
have a screw for a slotted screwdriver, which allows you to fix them more firmly.
The instrument has a Dovetail interface for mounting on a Rhino mount. It also lacks built-in IR illumination and the ability to adjust the brightness.
