The drinking tube is covered with a neoprene pouch and has a protective cap on the bite valve. The Medusa features a medium-sized neck with a leak-proof screw-on plastic cap.

A retainer protects against the loss of precious moisture and the cap itself.

Made of high-quality 1000D Cordura material, the cover is lightweight, and durable and fits well with the overall look of military ammunition. It has shoulder straps with a quick-drop feature, D-rings for attaching the system to clothing or gear, and one carry handle. The shoulder straps also have size adjusters, and additionally, there is a loop for hand carrying.

The attachment allows the Camelbak hydrator to be attached to gear or a large backpack with the option to hide the straps in the internal compartment.

The materials have low reflectivity in infrared light, which improves camouflage properties in the dark.

The 3-liter capacity makes it well-suited for active civilian hiking and travel.
