The FRACU is a specialized combat uniform element of the U.S. Army, engineered for high-risk environments where thermal threats are a constant factor. These pants perfectly balance uncompromising flame resistance with the durability and ergonomics required for prolonged field operations.
Design Features
Equipped with a sophisticated storage system, these pants feature 8 functional pockets:
-
Front Pockets: Two deep slash pockets for essential everyday items.
-
Cargo (Thigh) Pockets: Large-capacity side pockets with drainage grommets and Velcro-secured flaps for quick access to mission-critical gear.
-
Rear Pockets: Two inset pockets with secure button-down flaps.
-
Lower Leg Pockets: Specialized calf pockets designed for tourniquets, multi-tools, or writing utensils.
Materials & Technology
The pants are crafted from an reinforced Rip-Stop weave fabric, which prevents tears and punctures from spreading. The material blend is optimized for the perfect balance of comfort and fire protection:
Composition: 35% Nylon / 35% Cotton / 30% Aramid
-
Aramid: Provides the core flame-resistant property. The material does not melt or support combustion, protecting the wearer from flash burns.
-
Cotton: Ensures excellent breathability and skin comfort, even during high-intensity physical exertion.
-
Nylon: Increases overall durability, making the garment resistant to abrasion and mechanical wear.
Fit & Camouflage
-
Adjustability: The waist features an internal drawstring for a secure fit without necessarily needing a belt. The leg cuffs are also equipped with drawcords to ensure a tight seal over boots, keeping out debris and insects.
-
OCP (Scorpion W2) Pattern: The official camouflage of the U.S. Army. This pattern is highly effective at breaking up the human silhouette across woodland, mountainous, and transitional terrains.
Intended Use
-
Professional Service: Ideal for military personnel, EOD technicians, and vehicle crews.
-
Tactical & Extreme Sports: Airsoft, tactical training, and range days.
-
Outdoor Activities: Hiking, hunting, and field work where durability and safety are paramount.
