Eberlestock ROMAD Tactical Backpack

Eberlestock ROMAD – a compact and lightweight tactical backpack designed for transporting communication equipment, additional gear, and the necessary supply of equipment. The model has been field-tested and combines a small external profile with a well-designed system for organizing the internal and external space.

The backpack has a capacity of 25 L, which is sufficient for carrying a radio, communication equipment, clothing, gear, and other necessary equipment. The compact design is especially convenient when working in confined spaces – in vehicles, watercraft, or other conditions where excess volume may interfere with movement.

Communication Equipment System

ROMAD was originally developed with the placement of communication systems in mind, including the PRC117. Inside, there is a MOLLE panel with loops to which compatible radio pouches, Velcro holsters, magazine pouches, and other accessories can be attached.

Separate zippers for antenna and communication ports have retainers that help protect the contents of the backpack and provide additional protection against external factors.

Quick Access to the Main Compartment

A full-size U-shaped opening runs almost the entire height of the backpack, providing wide access to the internal space. This allows the necessary gear to be quickly found and retrieved without having to search through the interior for a long time.

A separate compartment is provided for a hydration system. It is isolated from the main space, helping to separate the liquid reservoir from other gear, clothing, or sensitive electronic equipment.

Special ports are also provided for routing communication cables and the hydration hose.

External Organization

Two zippered organizational compartments are located on the front of the backpack. The upper pocket is designed for small items that need to be quickly accessible.

The lower compartment has additional padding and can be used to store night vision devices, hearing protection, or other sensitive equipment that requires additional protection.

The outer surface of the backpack is equipped with MOLLE webbing, allowing its functionality to be expanded with compatible pouches and accessories.

Comfortable Carrying System

The internal HDPE frame adds rigidity to the construction and helps support the backpack when carrying a heavy load.

The shoulder system features ergonomic, breathable padding made of air-mesh material. It promotes ventilation and increases comfort during prolonged wear, including when worn together with a plate carrier.

MOLLE webbing runs along the entire length of the shoulder system. It can be used not only to attach additional accessories but also to organize and route cables and the hydration hose. This helps reduce the risk of gear snagging during movement.

Compact Profile and Versatility

One of the key features of the Eberlestock ROMAD is its narrow profile. It facilitates movement in confined spaces and work in vehicles or other equipment.

At the same time, the backpack is not limited to use as a communication assault pack. It can be used during hiking trips, training, field trips, travel, or as a compact backpack for an emergency kit.

Thanks to the large number of MOLLE webbing sections on the outer surfaces, the ROMAD configuration can be adapted to a specific task by adding the necessary pouches and accessories.
