Hybrid active headphones 3M Peltor Comtac IV are designed for tactical communication and hearing protection. Comtac IV headset has the ability to move the microphone in any direction. Immune to electromagnetic interference, salt water resistant, equipped with gel ear pads for increased comfort.
The inverted horseshoe housing of the headset contains all the electronics, eliminating the need for a large, heavy external radio control unit. Instead of bulky headphones, this model provides small vacuum earplugs that combine communication and hearing protection.
Comtac IV has the same capabilities as other models: external sound is amplified for situational awareness, but the system dampens high tactical noises.
There is a new Boost feature that allows the user to manually override the audio input to increase the volume when a higher audio output is needed.
The Comtact IV uses an AAA battery as its power source. Gel ear pads help stabilize the headphones. Comtac IV it is also Ops Core ARC compatible for use with FAST helmets (Future Assault Shell Technology).
Auto power off after 2 hours of inactivity. Built-in voice menu (in English).
Meets the hearing protection requirement of the DA PAM 40-501 Army Hearing Conservation Program 2015 for both stationary and impulse noise.
Tested to MIL-STD-810F, the Department of Defense Test Method Standard for Environmental Considerations and Laboratory Testing.
