ProfArmor ballistic shoulder protection is an additional armor component for a plate carrier or body armor system, designed to improve protection in the shoulder area without significantly reducing mobility. The model meets NIJ IIIA 0101.06 protection standards and is intended to defend against common handgun threats.
The outer cover is made from durable Cordura Invista nylon, which offers strong resistance to wear and mechanical stress during intensive use. Thanks to its anatomical shape, the shoulder protection fits comfortably on the gear, does not interfere with movement, and adapts better to the body’s contours. The design also allows convenient adjustment, making it easier to fit the armor to the user and compatible equipment.
The ballistic insert is made from Dyneema ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, manufactured in the USA. This material combines low weight, flexibility, and effective ballistic performance, helping keep the shoulder modules comfortable even during extended wear.
According to the NIJ IIIA 0101.06 standard, the protection is rated to stop .357 SIG FMJ FN rounds at 448 ± 9.1 m/s and .44 Magnum SJHP rounds at 436 ± 9.1 m/s. It is important to note that the NIJ IIIA classification is based on testing standard 500 × 500 mm samples, so backface signature and blunt trauma values may vary for smaller protective elements.
