Original US Army Desert BDU desert pants. The camouflage is known as the six-color desert pattern, which is also called “chocolate chip” or “cookie dough”. This camouflage is designed for use in arid environments, and its most famous use was during the Gulf War.
The Desert Battle Uniform (DBDU) stopped being used by the U.S. Army around the mid-1990s, although the pattern is still widely used in Middle Eastern countries. As the first official US desert uniform, the material of these pants is quite dense and heavy. But thanks to the dense material, the pants will last longer.
They feature two back pockets with buttons, two large cargo pockets, and two side pockets. The cheeks are adjustable with drawstrings and the waist has adjustable straps for a comfortable fit.
Belt loops up to 4 cm (1.5-2 inches).
The material the pants are sewn from is 50/50 NYCO. It is a blend of NIR-compatible fabrics, 50% nylon/50% cotton, resistant to fading and shrinkage. This composition is characterized by retaining heat slightly more than a polyester/cotton blend while having a slightly “heavier” or “stiffer” feel than other fabrics.
