CamelBak is an American company founded in 1988. It is primarily known for its hydration systems. The company also supplies backpacks, hyration systems, tactical gloves and protective gear to NATO armies and law enforcement officials.
The world's first Hands-Free Hydration system was created in 1988 by paramedic Michael Edison, dehydrated after a killer, hellish 100km Hotter'N Hell 100 race in White Falls, Texas, who made it from an IV bag, surgical tubing and a clamp and sewed it to his jersey. His invention was soon shortened to Camelbak. Hydration systems have changed a lot since then, but the basic idea has remained the same to allow easy drinking while on the move.
