U-WIN PRO Neck Protection Gorget with Ballistic Inserts, UHMWPE, Protection Class 2
The U-WIN PRO gorget is designed to provide additional protection for the neck, throat, and clavicle areas during combat, tactical, and duty operations. Its design increases ballistic coverage of some of the most vulnerable upper-body zones while maintaining mobility and allowing unrestricted weapon handling.
The set consists of two separate components — a main section and a front section — connected using hook-and-loop fasteners. This modular design allows the user to adjust the fit according to individual body shape and ensures comfortable integration with a plate carrier.
The main module is worn underneath the shoulder straps of the plate carrier and secured using the carrier’s standard attachment flaps. Thanks to its ergonomic profile, the gorget does not interfere with the user's field of view or weapon manipulation, even when firing from the prone position or while wearing a helmet.
For improved comfort, the main section incorporates an 8 mm cushioning layer that helps reduce pressure on the neck and shoulders during extended wear.
The shoulder flaps feature a MOLLE interface for attaching additional equipment. The design also supports the integration of shoulder protection modules, creating a more comprehensive upper-body protection system.
Ballistic Protection
The gorget is equipped with soft ballistic inserts made from Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), providing effective protection against handgun threats and fragmentation.
The total protective coverage area is 10.9 dm². Each ballistic insert consists of 55 layers of ballistic material and is sealed inside a waterproof protective sleeve to prevent damage from moisture and environmental exposure.
Based on penetration resistance, the inserts provide protection equivalent to Class 2 under DSTU 8782:2018 standards and are capable of stopping:
- 5.9 g Makarov pistol rounds;
- 8 g Luger pistol rounds;
- 5.5 g 7.62×25 mm Tokarev (TT) rounds;
- fired from a distance of 5 meters.
Fragmentation resistance has been verified according to NATO STANAG 2920 testing procedures. The confirmed V50 rating of 723 m/s demonstrates effective protection against high-velocity fragments.
