The Magpul MBUS 3 Front is the next generation of the legendary backup front sight, now even more compact, durable, and user-friendly. It combines the advantages of the polymer MBUS series with features inspired by the professional steel MBUS Pro line, delivering maximum performance in a minimal footprint.
What’s new in MBUS 3?
- Ultra-low profile: when folded, the sight measures only 12 mm (0.47”) in height — about 10% lower than the previous version.
- Tool-less adjustment: elevation can now be adjusted via a built-in wheel without the need for tools.
- Dual front sight post: allows switching between a wider Standard (0.06”) post for faster target acquisition and a narrower Match (0.04”) post for precision shooting.

⚠️ Important usage and compatibility notes:
- Temperature limitation: due to its polymer construction, the sight must not be mounted on a metal rail gas block. Direct exposure to heat can damage the unit. For such applications, use the steel MBUS Pro series.
- Compatibility: designed for installation on handguards with a top Picatinny rail. Not compatible with Magpul MOE handguards without additional adapters.
- Mounting plane: the front sight must be aligned on the same plane as the rear sight.
