The striking design of the Firebird FB762 is far from its only advantage. The advantages of this knife also include reliability, durability, as well as simplicity and ease of use.
The knife can be opened with a double-sided pin or with a lock and a slight wave of the hand. There is an Axis-lock as a locking mechanism. The advantages of this lock are ease of use, because it can be operated with both right and left hands, as well as strength. This mechanism is really capable of withstanding huge loads, however, it is susceptible to dirt (dust / sand), therefore, it is recommended to periodically clean it and avoid heavy clogging, as this can adversely affect the operation of the knife.
The blade of the knife is made in the form of Drop-point and has a smooth sharpening of the cutting edge. This arrangement allows you to comfortably work with different materials, be it food, cardboard, plastic or wood. And due to the use of steel grade 440C and hardening to a level of ~ 58 HRC, the blade retains its sharpness for a long time and does not rust after contact with water.
The handle consists of several parts. It is based on a pair of steel liners, on top of which are installed carbon fiber liners. This model has special holes that perform not only a decorative function, but also allow to reduce the weight of the knife as much as possible without compromising its strength.
Closer to the end of the handle there is a massive backspacer, which has a special hole for installing a lanyard. If necessary, the knife can be attached to clothing or equipment using the steel clip provided in the kit.
