The USMC FILBE Assault Pouch is a standard assault pouch from the FILBE (Family of Improved Load Bearing Equipment) system, adopted by the United States Marine Corps to replace the previous ILBE kit. The pouch is designed to expand the functionality of the FILBE Assault Pack and can also be mounted on other MOLLE-compatible platforms.

The pouch is part of the standard FILBE Assault Pack configuration and attaches to the front or side panels of the pack, providing additional storage space for mission-essential gear. Its purpose is to give the Marine quick access to items that must remain within immediate reach during marches, patrols, or combat operations.

Materials and Standards

• Genuine military-grade Cordura 500D in Coyote Brown (Coyote 498) — the official USMC color.

• The material meets Berry Amendment requirements, is abrasion-resistant, and performs reliably in field conditions.

• Exterior water-repellent coating protects the contents from rain and dirt.

• Military-grade hardware (zippers and stitching) is built for long-term, demanding use.

Construction and Layout

• Main compartment with a large zipper that opens almost the full width — easy to access even with gloves on.

• Capacity: approximately 3–4 liters.

• Flexible, non-rigid construction prevents pressure points when attached to a pack.

MOLLE Compatibility

The back panel features MOLLE/PALS webbing, allowing the pouch to be mounted on:

• the FILBE Assault Pack,

• the main FILBE Main Pack,

• a plate carrier,

• a battle belt, chest rigs, or other load-bearing platforms.

This modularity enables the pouch to be configured for various missions — from reconnaissance to long-foot movements.
