The GiG Military Grade 1 Anti-Fragmentation Shoulder Protector is a great addition to a bulletproof vest or plate carrier because it provides additional armored protection against bullets and explosive fragments. They are two soft and fairly lightweight armored fiber shoulder pads that provide maximum protection and comfort to the wearer.
The Class 1 armor package provides protection against 9 x 18mm and 9 x 19mm rounds, which are used in pistols such as the PM and Glock. It is often used for concealed carry.
The shoulder protection module is specially designed to fit snugly and ergonomically on the shoulder, minimizing restriction of movement and providing maximum comfort. This is further aided by adjustable straps and retainers that allow it to adapt to different shoulder area sizes.
Adding deltoid muscle protection elements to the vest increases the total body protection area. The deltoid muscle is a large muscle in the shoulder that is involved in arm movements. It is located from the collarbone to the humerus and is a fairly large muscle mass. When this muscle is injured, serious complications such as restricted movement, bleeding, and infection can occur.
The outer pouch serves as an ideal carrier for ballistic pouches. It is sewn from heavy-duty and abrasion-resistant Cordura 1000D nylon fabric, which has a flame- and water-repellent impregnation. It is attached to the vest (plate carrier), clothing, or other equipment elements with the help of Velcro and/or MOLLE system.
