The USMC Plate Carrier Gen III is specifically designed for the US Marine Corps. Comes with Kevlar plates to protect the front, back and sides. It provides for the possibility of additional equipment with solid reinforced plates, elements for protecting the shoulders and neck from other manufacturers (not included in the delivery set).
Differences of the Gen III plate carrier from the previous version:
- 23% less weight;
- laser cut FirstSpear 6/12 fastening system (alternative to MOLLE/PALS);
- lightук low-profile Velcro;
- FirstSpear™ Tubes™ quick release system.
The USMC Plate Carrier Gen III can be assembled in three different configurations
1. Tactical configuration — a system of maximum protection, suitable for infantry combat. Provides four-way protection with FirstSpear 6/12 (Molle/PALS) straps all over. To take off, you can use two Tube buckles on the cummerbund and two buckles on the shoulders.
2. Low profile configuration. Used by vehicle crews, scouts, snipers. Can be used with or without side protection. Unfastens with Velcro on the cummerbund. It is also possible to attach a Tube buckle to facilitate the removal of the plate carrier in this version (all necessary parts are included).
3. Load bearing configuration. This configuration can be used in place of the RPS. It does not include protective bags, but it can be worn over a low profile configuration. Suitable for maneuver groups, scouts, vehicle crews.
USMC Plate Carrier Gen III System Included Parts
1. Outer vest assembly:
- front load bearing panel;
- front and rear outer vest;
- rear cummerbund adapter;
- 2 shoulder straps.
2. Inner vest assembly:
- front and rear inner vest;
- front and rear ballistic insert.
3. Outer cummerbund assembly:
- interchangeable left and right sides;
- 2 interchangeable Tube adapters.
4. Inner cummerbund assembly:
- interchangeable left and right sides.
5. Two side pockets with ballistic inserts.
6. Harness (rear panel).
