The Modular Sleep System (MSS) is designed for comfortable sleep for
US Army personnel away from the main bases.
Can be used in any weather and climatic conditions.
With a different combination of layers it allows to sleep at a temperature of +35 to -40 ̊
in an open area without the use of tents, awnings or other shelters.
When using the system in extremely cold conditions,
it is recommended to use the ECWCS all-weather clothing system in parallel.
This is facilitated by a specially designed push-button system of docking layers,
allowing to combine parts of the system depending on the temperature and the required comfort of sleep and the use of a membrane outer layer.
This system uses Polarguard HV (High Void) insulation - a long fiber insulation of polyester.
Excellent weight-to-heat ratio.
The fiber has one internal triangular cross-section channel, due to which the fiber
is restored to its original volume after compression, the weight is reduced by 20%, and the strength is enhanced.
Because of its long-fiber structure, the insulation does not roll, it does not “crumble” into its component parts.
Keeps volume after repeated washes.
