The HyFin Vent Compact Chest Seal Twin Pack provides users with two ventilated chest seals in a compact package for the prevention, management and treatment of open and/or tension pneumothorax potentially caused by penetrating chest trauma. Pneumothorax occurs due to air entering the chest through a wound, which compresses the lungs and worsens gas exchange up to complete paralysis of breathing. A collapsed lung is partially or completely switched off from breathing, leading to the death of a person.
The design of the occlusive dressing includes 3 ventilation channels that allow air to escape from the chest cavity during exhalation, but prevent air from entering through the injury site during inspiration. Each seal is manufactured using advanced hydrogel technology designed to provide superior adhesion in harsh and harsh environments where the victim may be covered in blood, sweat or other environmental contaminants.
The packaging is made of durable and easy-to-open foil. Perforations between packs allow only one bandage to be opened at a time as needed. The HyFin Vent Compact Chest Seal is approximately 25% smaller than the standard HyFin Vent Chest Seal. Ideal for low-profile kits, it can fit a travel bag, cargo pocket, or body armor pocket.
