Patch PSDinfo “Work and Travel HUR Rigs” — PVC
This patch is dedicated to one of the most notable naval operations carried out by the HUR, which became a symbol of restoring control over key strategic facilities in the Black Sea.
Initial Phase of the Operation
In the summer of 2023, Ukrainian special operations forces began the liberation of offshore drilling platforms known as the “Boyko Rigs.” The first target was the platform “Ukraina,” rigged with mines and tripwires.
On July 22, the “Tymur” group traveled more than 100 km across open sea using two boats and secured the platform, paving the way for the next stages of the mission.
Operation to Liberate “Tavrida”
The next objective was the “Tavrida” platform, which the occupiers used as a radar observation post.
On July 29, the “Artan” special unit set out to sea despite stormy weather. On the platform, they discovered radar systems, around forty aircraft missiles, technical documentation and Russian insignia. Regaining control over “Tavrida” became a crucial step in restoring Ukraine’s presence in the Black Sea.
Final Phase of the Maritime Special Operation
On August 27, Ukrainian boats engaged a Russian Su-30 near the platforms. The enemy aircraft was damaged and forced to retreat. During this clash, Ukrainian fighters demonstrated exceptional resilience, including a soldier with the callsign “Conan,” who spent more than 14 hours in open water and survived.
On September 11, 2023, Ukraine fully regained control over the “Boyko Rigs,” “Tavrida,” and the SPMU “Syvash” — a strategic victory proving that the invader cannot hold Ukrainian sea or land.
