• The level 1 base layer provides cooling, and is the starting point for moisture transfer and retention of body heat.

• Medium density level 2 base layer is a warmer and slightly heavier alternative to the standard base layer; it can be worn over the L1 for added warmth without sacrificing breathability.

• The level 3 active insulation layer provides exceptional heat retention while on the move and can also be used as a windproof outer layer.

• Level 4 is the bottom layer in the system, designed to be used as outerwear. Provides a combination of light weight along with wind and water protection.

• Level 5 — Softshell layer, responsible for the last stage of moisture removal to the outside; weather protection is balanced with breathability and mobility, making it essential on the move.

• Level 6 provides complete wind and water protection in active and static conditions. Layer L6 garments have fully taped waterproof seams, are extremely easy to pack and are abrasion resistant.

• Level 7 is designed for extremely cold conditions. Durable construction keeps out rain and wind, while excellent, quick-drying insulation keeps you warm even when wet.

• Level 8 Polar Insulation — the most reliable protection from the cold in the Beyond® line, keeps you warm down to -70°F. Thermal management insulation and a windproof yet breathable microripstop make this layer ideal for both active and static conditions.
