The Theon NYX LW is a state-of-the-art night vision binocular that meets military MIL-SPEC standards with image intensification. It can be used either mounted on the head or held separately in the hands. It provides better depth perception than a monocular, making it easier to judge distance and relative motion, so the ability to perform tasks such as driving is greatly improved.
NYX is an ideal choice for special operations forces, named after the Greek goddess of the night.
It includes a built-in infrared illuminator, reducing the need for the warfighter to wear a separate device. With advanced electronic image intensifiers, soldiers can operate more effectively in low-light and no-light combat scenarios.
For instant configuration changes, the user can recline each monocular separately. When both monoculars are reclined and flipped upward, the system sits along the contour of the helmet, thus reducing silhouette and neck strain, and minimizing the risk of system damage and injury.
The NYX is self-powered with a single AA battery (not included). It can also operate via a remote battery pack (also not included) on the back of the helmet for extended run time.
