Armor plates of the highest (sixth) level of protection according to DSTU 8782:2018, withstanding three hits of armor-piercing bullet B-32 or other appropriate caliber rifle bullets, as well as from damage by debris of different sizes, ricochets, and shrapnel and all bullets of other calibers according to the test standards of DSTU 8782:2018.
The composite is formed by a combination of silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic elements and a pressed UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) substrate. The ceramic element coverage is 85%, with indents of 20-25 mm from the edges (230-275 mm). Each of the composite materials is designed to perform the appropriate function when hit by a bullet – the ceramic layer works as a destroyer of the penetrating element of the bullet (mainly the thermally reinforced core), the UHMWPE substrate prevents the bullet remnants from penetrating through the armor plate and takes on most of the energy from the hit and distributes it evenly.
The armor plate is tested in a certified laboratory (withstands 3 hits with bullets 7B3-323 (7.62x54 BZ2 – armor-piercing-inflammatory)), a copy of the test report can be provided with the plates at the request of the buyer.
All Bronyx armor plates are manufactured at our production facilities in Ukraine.
These plates have a standardized shape of Shooter's Cut type (i.e. with chamfered corners) and comfortable anatomical bend of R400 standard (radius 400mm).
M – size 250 by 300 mm, weight 2.9 kg, chest volume up to 110 cm (+-5 cm). This is a standardized size that will fit most slab wearers.
Important! If the vest cover does not have a damper pad between the chest and the armor plate, we recommend using a damper inserted under the armor plate in the vest cover. The damper helps to reduce interference deformation caused by high-energy impact elements.
