This type of body armor was developed by the Protective Apparel Corporation of America, it is the abbreviation from the capital letters of the developer's name that gave the name to this type of vest - RASA. Bulletproof vests of the RASA type are unique in that, unlike classic vests for concealed wearing, they have compartments for ballistic bags and for armor plates, and the design allows them to be used for hidden and external wearing, depending on the tasks (a large Velcro-Velcro patch for patches is sewn on the vest , chevrons, emblems or ammunition).
Distinctive features of RASA are:
- provides maximum concealment of wearing;
- Convenient adjustment of the body armor to the anatomical features of the operator in height due to adjustable shoulder straps and in volume using wide side elastic bands;
- increasing the protection class by installing armor plates 3, 4, 5, 6 protection classes. The vest has universal adjustable pockets for armor plates of sizes from S to L, including TEMP plates.
