Kevlar body armor IOTV (Improved Outer Tactical Vest) is an improved tactical body armor is a regular body armor of the US Army, which replaced the OTV (Outer Tactical Vest), is a vest of the IBA (Interceptor Body Armor) system. The Gen IV Enhanced Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV) is designed to provide the maximum freedom of movement needed to get into the right firing positions with the agility for tactical missions. Optimal design features provide the best weight distribution for both the body armor ballistic system and additional load-bearing equipment, which provides increased comfort, durability and mobility. Compatible with E-SAPI/SAPI and ESBI plates (sold separately), the IOTV IV also provides more protection under the arms and sides of the torso. Modular and fully scalable, the base vest can be easily configured to accommodate all system components, including neck and throat guards, deltoid guards, and lower back guards. The vest consists of a chest and back parts, two side parts and an internal adjustment belt.
The vest has a quick (emergency) release system in case of an emergency. Drop system: there is a slot in the upper chest for access to a cable loop, the short side of which provides a shoulder connection, and the long side connects the dorsal attachment block: the side parts of the body armor and the elastic belt. When the cable is pulled out, the vest splits into 2 parts: the front part (chest, side parts and belt, front part of the collar) and the back part (back and back part of the collar). The body armor case is equipped with the PALS system for attaching modular pouches, accessories and equipment of the MOLLE/MOLLE II, MALICE, ALICE systems, etc.
Made from 500 denier Cordura nylon.
The vest itself without inserts, made of soft Kevlar fabric armor, provides
protection according to the IIIA standard of the NIJ standard -
against fragments of ammunition and 9 mm bullets of the 9 × 19 mm cartridge.
