The ECWCS Gen III Level 3 Fleece Jacket is part of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) developed in the 1980s by the US Army Natick Soldier Research Center.
The jacket maximises warmth thanks to the use of Polartec® Thermal Pro material, which creates air pockets that trap air and retain body heat. Breathes well and dries quickly. The material combines elasticity, wear resistance, repels moisture and protects from light rain, breathes well and has a small packaging volume. In terms of thermal properties, Polartec fleece per 1 gram of material is twice as good as sheep's wool and more than three times as good as cotton. The surface structure of the jacket imitates fur.
The jacket has a zipper. The stand-up collar covers the neck.
Shoulder inserts prevent chafing from carrying a backpack or chest rig.
There are Velcro panels on the chest. In the elbow area there are reinforcing inserts similar to those on the shoulders. There are “waffle” inserts on the sides to improve ventilation.
Elastics are sewn along the hem and cuffs for a close fit.
There are 4 pockets: 2 external without fasteners and 2 internal mesh.
This jacket is a reliable and comfortable choice for military personnel and outdoor enthusiasts. A fleece jacket can be worn alone or in combination with other layers of clothing.
