M-TAC brand has developed a new and improved concept of the fighter's personal protection system – M-TAC GORGET WITH BALISTIC PACKETS 1 ELITE GEN. II PROTECTION CLASS. The product is a compact detachable module that provides all-around anti-fragmentation protection for the fighter's neck and upper back.

The main feature of this generation (relative to the previously released one) is the improvement of the design. In the new generation of the gorget, the shape of the collar has been changed, which makes it more comfortable to work with the weapon in the supine position. Additional back protection is possible due to the extension of the back part, and due to the reshaping of the shoulder part, the neckpiece can be combined with M-TAC Shoulder Protector with BALISTIC PACKAGES 1 ERGONOMIC PROTECTION CLASS (Pair) without restricting movement during activity.

This neckband consists of two elements with Velcro fastenings. The front section is designed to protect the neck from the front, while the shoulder section protects the shoulders, trapezius, and back of the neck.

The neck section is attached to the Molle interface of the chest panel of the CUIRASS QRS and CUIRASS ELITE chest plate, and the back section is attached to the shoulder section of the chest plate using slings with Velcro fasteners. The module is designed to provide continuous ballistic overlap from the top cut of the chest plate to the back plate while capturing additional area on the sides of the shoulder straps.

Considerable design effort has gone into making the neck as ergonomically shaped as possible for comfortable use. This design does not conflict with other equipment elements and provides a sufficient level of freedom of head movement even with a helmet on. The anatomical shape and low weight of the product were also emphasized in the development of the neckpiece. Thanks to this, it allows you to maintain mobility and ergonomics of the whole outfit.

If necessary, you can use only the shoulder section of the module, while the neck protector can be fixed in folded form in front of the armor. Also, the frontal element of the gorget can be removed for convenient weapon insertion, but in this case, it will cease to fulfill the protective functions of the front part of the neck.

The module is made of Cordura 500D, a heavy-duty fabric resistant to abrasion and high loads. On the inner side of the shoulder part, a dampening mesh is used, which reduces the likelihood of pressure and provides good ventilation.

The gorget comes complete with a ballistic package designed to protect against ricochets and debris. Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) it is STANAG 2920 compliant with a V-50 antifragility rating of about 614.5 m/s.

To understand the analogy of anti-bullet resistance, an armor package with a similar composition corresponds to Class 1 (9x18APS, 9x19 Luger) according to DSTU 8782:2018. (Class 1 refers to the equivalent composition tested on 400x400mm standard samples. Therefore, on smaller size and shape specimens, the setback injury may be different).
