In the EOTech holographic sights, the aiming mark was replaced by a hologram,
which appears under the influence of laser radiation.
The large and transparent aiming mark of such a sight is clearly distinguishable in any light conditions
and it is located in the center of the sight, regardless of the angle of observation.
Also, it does not overlap the target and does not distract the shooter.
The luminous pupil is visible only to the arrow and is completely invisible
from the side, even when using night-vision googles.
The flat sight window has an anti-reflective coating,
which reduces the chance of the arrow being detected by the game.
Holographic sight (collimator) refers to open-type sights,
so the shooter does not have to squeeze the second eye while aiming.
A large field of view allows the shooter to use peripheral vision and instantly respond to an emerging threat.
It should be noted that the shooting speed with a holographic sight is much higher
than with an optical one, therefore it is often used when shooting at moving targets.
Another characteristic feature is that it can be used in any weather - in rain, in snow, and in heavy fog.
The aiming mark will be clearly visible even if the exit window turns out to be covered with snow or mud, or even broken.
