It is one of the layers of the ECWCS system, which is designed
to be worn over the base layers of clothing during rain and cold weather.
ECWCS Gen III products use lightweight (30% lighter than previous generations) Gore-Tex Paclite two-component fabric,
which provides 50% more protection against moisture and wind compared to previous generations.
Instead of the third inner layer, Gore-Tex Paclite uses a thin layer of carbon
and grease repellent to prevent clogging of the membrane pores.
Its smooth inner surface reduces friction, allowing layers of clothing to slide.
This gives additional freedom of movement and ease when putting on/taking off clothes.
The Gore-Tex Paclite membrane has a water resistance of 20,000+ mm, vapor permeability + g/m2/24 hours: 25,000.
Thin and lightweight Gore-Tex jacket is designed to protect against rain, snow,
wind and cold (in combination with other layers) and provides maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
When folded, it is very compact for storage and transportation in a backpack.
High stand-up collar with a pocket for Velcro hoods.
The large, comfortable hood is adjustable with an elastic cord with stoppers and retracts into a pocket on the collar.
The hood has enough volume to wear over any kind of protective helmets.
IDEAL frost-resistant frontal double-sided zipper with Velcro windproof flap.
The cuffs of the sleeves with elastic are adjustable in volume with Velcro strap.
2 IDEAL vertical zips are on chest for access to pockets.
The ECWCS Gen III 6th layer pants have flap-closure slots for accessing the pockets of the base layer,
zippers with flaps from the foot to the knee for quick dressing over the base layer without removing the shoes.
There are attachment points for braces and elastic inserts at the waist and around the foot.
Pants have protection on the knees and back of a more dense material.
