Patagonia PCU (Protective Combat Uniform) Gen II Level 5 Jacket is a versatile lightweight garment used by the US Special Forces' (SOF). Its functions are to protect the soldier from rain, wind and excessive overheating during intense movement.
The main material is softshell, the water-repellent properties of which are achieved thanks to silicone encapsulation. Fabric fibres impregnated with silicone impregnations do not pass moderate precipitation and wind, but retain breathable properties. The material stretches well, does not hinder movement and is easily ventilated. There are also underarm pockets for air circulation.
If necessary, the hood can be hidden behind the collar. The sleeves have rubber cuffs and are fastened with velcro.
The area of shoulders is reinforced with fabric inserts. There are pockets on the shoulders with velcro panels for placing patches or insignia.
There are spacious pockets on the shoulders and on the chest, which allow you to carry a large number of necessary things. There are pockets on the shoulders with Velcro panels for placing patches or insignia. Special elastics in the chest area adjust the jacket to the figure.
The bottom is tightened with a rubber strap with a retainer. To keep warmth, the jacket can be adjusted to the body as much as possible, and to release its excess, loosen the tightening, as well as the retainers on the sleeves. The main zipper on the outside is covered with a strip that protects against water and wind.
