L3 is an American company providing combat command, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance products and systems, avionics, maritime equipment, training devices and services, instrumentation, space and navigation products. Its customers include the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, US government intelligence agencies, NASA, aerospace contractors, commercial telecommunications and wireless customers.
In 2010, L3 Technologies, Inc. bought out Insight Technologies (a company that develops and produces optics, night vision devices, lasers).
In 2019, Harris Corporation and L3 Technologies, Inc merged to form L3Harris Technologies, Inc. And they became the sixth largest defense contractor in the United States.
