The Kestrel 5700 Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics is an updated version of the Kestrel 4500 Applied Ballistics Meter.
Having chosen the Kestrel LINK model (Bluetooth),
please download the Kestrel LNK Ballistics application to your smartphone,
enter the settings corresponding to the parameters of your weapon/ammunition to the calculator.
New Kestrel meters with Bluetooth include the software needed for wireless communication
up to 100 feet away (walls and other obstacles will affect this range).
The Kestrel application ballistic meter combines sophisticated environmental monitoring features
with long-range ballistic information in one handheld device.
Applied Ballistics meter embedded software provides all of the following features:
- An accurate and reliable library Litz G1 and G7 BC (more than 225 bullets) refers to ballistic coefficients (BC).
- User modeling of the resistance curve; useful in attracting targets over the supersonic range of a bullet.
- Ballistic calibration function (truing).
- PC Loader software allows you to create firearm profiles on your computer and transfer them using a USB cable or via Bluetooth.
With applied ballistics software, users can train a Kestrel Shooters Weather Appliance to match a particular rifle based
on observed effects over a long distance, with a ballistics calibration function that offers even more accurate data points for users to rely on.
This device allows users to choose either G1 or G7 ballistic coefficients, or be more specific and
choose from a whole library of applied ballistic user curves for more than 200 bullets.
The integrated Bluetooth technology ensures maximum portability and accuracy of environmental data.
Now, both real-time data and registered data can be transmitted wirelessly and automatically to a MAC/PC or smartphone.
The iPhone also connects via Link to the BushNell CONX Range Finder Finder,
where you can view results from AB Kestrel directly on the Range Finder.
With the built-in LiNK option, additional features appear (compared to downloading data via a USB cable).
With LiNK you can load custom curves from your phone, in case you have several types of ammunition for one rifle,
and you need to enter completely new data for each type of ammunition.
Key features:
- Bluetooth LINK works on smartphones with/Mobiel/Android/ IOS.
- Power unit with 1 AA battery (instead of 2 AAA). Improved ergonomics of the battery compartment,
which allows using one battery or AA battery (instead of 2 AAA).
- The battery cover is in the back, the battery receiver is protected from the motherboard,
which will protect it, in case the battery leaks.
- Improved high resolution screen for comfortable reading of readings in any light (even under sunlight), i
improved contrast ratio of the information displayed on it.
- Intuitive navigation.
- Multiple languages: English, French, German, Spanish.
- Scratch-resistant glass. Special polycarbonate coating of the display prevents scratches and other damages,
the appearance of which may make it difficult to read information from the weather station's screen during its operation.
- Includes dual-mode backlight display - Red (NV - Night Vision) and White backlights.
Dual-mode display illumination: RED - illumination with a special optical filter (NV - Night Vision),
reducing the brightness level of the display in the blue and green spectra to optimal values, for reading in dark conditions;
White backlights - bright backlighting of the green spectrum, suppressing glare and possible “glare” of the display when the sun's rays hit it directly.
- The function of using the advanced algorithm of applied ballistics G1/G7,
uses an applied ballistic bullet library of custom models, accurate measurement of the bullet resistance profile,
includes aerodynamic jump corrections, Spin Drift (not in previous Kestrel series) and Coriolis effect to achieve accurate long shots.
- Built-in library Litz with ballistic coefficients.
- AB Kestrel comes with numerous preloaded resistance models, but not full weapon/ammunition profiles, in other
words, you must create your own weapon profile, but when modeling ammunition you can choose
from a list of bullets (ballistic coefficients data for more than 225 long-range bullets).
- Enhanced features include customizable range map and extended ballistics data table,
as well as storage for up to 16 gun profiles and a bullet and 5 stored targets.
- Save up to 15 environmental parameters.
- Built-in Muzzle Velocity Truing function allows you to accurately measure the speed
of a bullet without the additional use of a chronograph.
- The choice of units of measurement (Milradians, real MOA, small MOA, or clicks of the drum for entering amendments)
allows you to work with any weapon and sight.
- Weather stations with LiNK support (only for models with a Bluetooth module) can be
connected to laser rangefinders compatible with LiNK, such as the Bushnell Elite 1 Mile CONX,
provides wireless communication with mobile devices and computers for direct integration of target data and ballistic solutions.
Characteristics:
- Barometric pressure.
- Angle adjustment.
- The trend of pressure change.
- Height above sea level.
- Relative humidity.
- The index of thermal stress (an indicator of the probability of heat stress).
- Dew point (time dew).
- Temperature by wetted thermometer - thermodynamic limit of lowering the temperature.
- Atmospheric density.
- Reduced temperature (Wind Chill).
- The temperature of air, water and snow.
- Current, average and maximum gust speed, direction, cross wind, headwind/Tailwind wind.
- Time and date.
- Automatic saving of measurements, even when the device is turned off.
- Enhanced data warehouse functionality that allows you to record the minimum,
maximum and average values, as well as interpret the selected array of such data
in the form of a diagram or dynamic graph in the trend (trend graph with chronological data).
