A plague medic is a mediaeval doctor during a plague outbreak. Such physicians were common in mediaeval and Renaissance Europe, whose primary duty was to treat those suffering from the plague, or “Black Death,” especially during epidemics. Usually, plague doctors were not professionals in their field, but performed secondary tasks and tried to make a career.
A characteristic feature of plague doctors was a special protective suit with an original “nosed” mask, reminiscent of a bird’s beak. In early versions, the mask covered only the face, but later began to completely cover the head. In order not to suffocate, two small holes were made in the beak. At the same time, the head was covered with a low flat hat. Due to their specific appearance, as well as their mystical aura, plague doctors had a significant impact on European culture and went down in history forever.
The patch is made of high quality material (polyvinyl chloride). Attaches to clothing, bags, backpacks or equipment using Velcro.
