The Ganzo G807-OR knife with sheath is a prominent representative of fixed knives for general purposes. The length of its blade is 88 mm and its thickness is 3.3 mm, which increases the knife’s resistance to wear. The blade is made of 9CR14 carbon steel with a hardness of about ±59 HRC, and the handle material, 115 mm long, is PP+TPR. Despite the length of the design of 205 mm, it is comfortable to wear — for this purpose, a sheath with PP is included in the kit.
The model belongs to the category of tourist knives and is inspired by the famous knives made in Sweden, which will especially appeal to fans of classics in all its forms. The knife offers the user expanded functionality thanks to a fixed design that does not have small, moving parts, which means it is safer and more stable in operation. It is relevant for use during travel, camping, picnics, fishing and hunting — wherever a sharp blade is not a whim, but a necessity.
The design of the G807 has something in common with the similar model G806. However, minor changes in the design made it possible to achieve greater ergonomics. The tool is equipped with an 88 mm blade. Its classic Drop Point profile proves effective in a variety of tasks, from cutting food and sharpening wooden pegs to piercing fabrics or plastics. The spine thickness of 3.3 mm provides the blade with resistance to high loads and prevents its deformation.
Blade material: 9CR14 carbon steel. The grade is one of the varieties of martensitic steel with high resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Other advantages of this metal are: long-term sharpness retention of a straight blade and wear resistance, due to which the grade is widely used by European and American brands in the production of cutting tools. After heat treatment, the steel acquires a reference hardness of ±59 HRC, which also extends its service life.
The 115 mm long handle has no sharp edges, preventing rubbing of the palm, which is especially important when working with the tool for a long time and intensively. Combined material: the base is made of polypropylene (PP) coated with thermoplastic rubber (TPR). This combination gives the handle strength and durability; in particular, it is not afraid of mechanical impact and maintains its integrity in the event of a strong impact. The non-slip, ribbed surface of the material reduces the sliding of the tool in a wet palm, and small notches closer to the blade form a finger rest.
The triangular hole in the tail of the handle organically complements the overall design of the structure. The hole is intended for attaching a lanyard, which is thrown over the hand when using the knife as a safety net.
Ganzo G807 weighs exactly 96 grams. To make the design comfortable to wear, the manufacturer has equipped the set with a branded sheath, also made of polypropylene (PP). The sheath has an elastic clip for fixing on the belt; there is also a double-sided through hole through which excess water remaining on the blade after use is drained.
