The history of the patch from the PSDinfo community: “The group of Ukrainian contractors, which was the basis of PSDinfo, became a witness and participant in the fall of Kabul and the capture of Afghanistan by the Taliban. We had been surrounded for some time, and the events were happening extremely quickly. One day we were ordered to evacuate our workers from the green zone in the centre of Kabul to our base located further north. In the morning, Kabul was captured and we went into defensive mode and defended our base.
There were machine-gun nests on the roofs, and sandbags were placed at each corner of the building. Our fighters were ready to fight in the event of an attempted capture or attack by the Taliban. We were surrounded for a week, unable to leave, waiting for any possible scenario.
This is our unique story, where Ukrainians showed their professionalism, as most of them had military experience from the time of the anti-terrorist operation in the Donbas and were ready to fight in being surrounded thousands of kilometres from home.
Since then, the story of Work & Travel was born, which is confirmed by the real actions of the PSDinfo team.”
Along with the patch, there are collectible photo cards with the history of PSDinfo in Afghanistan:
1. Last photo with the PSDinfo flag against the background of Kabul airport and UH-60 helicopters with the signatures of all event participants.
2. Day of evacuation from Afghanistan.
3. View of the city of Kabul.
4. A typical Kabuli street in the "green zone", the life and daily routine of children.
5. View from the car while driving along one of the roads towards the city.
