The main difference between the portable weather station Kestrel 4000 and the younger Kestrel 3500 model is the ability to connect with a computer and other weather stations using Bluetooth technology at a distance of up to 10 meters. The user-friendly interface allows you to combine incoming data from different devices on one computer in a convenient way.
The portable weather station Kestrel 4000 allows you to measure the maximum and average wind speed, guaranteeing accurate measurements at wind speeds up to 145 m / s, with an error of no more than 3% percent or 0.1 m / s. Due to its compact size (127 x 45 x 28 mm) and a weight of only 102 grams, the weather station fits comfortably in the hand and will not let it get tired during long-term use of the device. The operating temperature range is -10 to + 50 ° C. The portable weather station can operate outside the declared range, but the operating time should be limited. Power is supplied from 2 AAA batteries providing continuous operation for 400 hours. The automatic shutdown time can be selected between 15 and 60 minutes, or disable automatic shutdown.
