ECWCS Gen III Level 5 Pants offer a good level of protection from wind, mud and rain. Pants made of durable Milliken Nylon fabric. The belt has a height of 4 cm. The front fly with a zipper can be additionally fixed with a button. Small cuts of the sling, which are sewn on the inside of the belt, are designed to fix the suspenders if the fifth layer trousers are to be worn over the bulkier insulated trousers. On either side of the fly on the belt, there are pairs of belt slots that are compatible with belts up to 6.5 cm wide.
On the back on the belt there are two slots and an elastic sling sewn into the belt. With its help, the pants respond well to changes in positions and active movements, without causing discomfort. There are also wide Velcro straps on either side of the back slots. Slightly below the waist, there are front pockets, 19 cm high. Hip pockets, which serve as the main ones, are convenient for folding knives, multitools, lights, etc. These pockets have puffs so that the contents can be better pressed against the thigh. The pockets are closed with two Velcro panels, which are placed along the edges. For better protection against moisture, and to extend the durability of the trousers, the knee area is reinforced with a second insert made of Milliken Nylon base material. In the side seams at the bottom of the pants, as well as on the waist, there are built-in zippers 38 cm long. With their help, you can take off or put on your pants even in oversized boots for extremely low temperatures. To protect the fasteners from mechanical stress and penetration of precipitation, they are closed with strips of basic material 3 cm wide.
