The ECWCS GEN III Level 1 Dark Tan Thermal Underwear Set is a base layer for increased levels of physical activity that involve intense sweating. The kit can be used independently or in combination with other layers of the ECWCS Gen3 system (or others) depending on the conditions. The material absorbs and distributes moisture over a large area with subsequent acceleration of its evaporation. All seams are flat, so these clothes do not rub the body.
This underwear is used by the US Army. Recommended for use all year round.
The collar of the shirt is wide enough. Under the arms, 4 seams converge at one point, but if the size is selected correctly, this will not create discomfort.
The cuffs have a thumb hole. This will help you avoid losing the edges of the base layer cuffs when putting on additional layers, or will keep your hands minimally warm if you are not wearing gloves.
Another feature of the shirt is the elongation in the lumbar area. This creates an additional protective layer against the cold. In addition, it protects the back and lower back from exposure during active movement if the shirt is tucked in.
The long johns hold well at the waist thanks to the elastic strap, which also holds the tucked-in shirt tightly. There is a codpiece in front, which is especially important when wearing several layers of ECWCS at once.
An additional insert in the crotch eliminates discomfort and chafing and slightly increases freedom of movement of the legs. This is especially important when moving over rough terrain or when performing complex leg movements (lunges, hand-to-hand combat, etc.).
Composition: Polartec Power Dry Silkweight (100% polypropylene). The material is able to highly effectively remove moisture from the body, leaving the skin dry. Well ventilated and dries quickly.
