The Lowa Gorgon GTX Hiking Shoes is a shoe specifically designed for long hikes on rugged terrain as well as for everyday wear in urban environments.
The upper of the shoe is a combination of durable synthetic fabric and nubuck, complemented by a Gore-Tex® membrane for effective moisture protection and ventilation inside the sneaker.
Thanks to the special Lowa Monowrap® frame, the midsole with three-dimensional construction sits comfortably on the foot and supports it while traveling over rough terrain. The slightly elevated frame design provides extra support for feet and ankles on uneven terrain.
A good outsole is the lion's share of hiking comfort. That's why the outsole of the Lowa Speedhiking is made of an optimal combination of rubber and polyurethane. The large contact area of the flexible and lightweight outsole creates a reliable grip on any surface. The springy effect allows you to overcome obstacles more easily, move faster, amortize well the effects of jumping, running, and fast walking, and get less tired in the process. The anatomically shaped Lowa DynaPU® midsole and beveled heel edge ensure that the model's dynamic capabilities are maximized, even after years of use. After all, polyurethane (the material from which the midsole is made) does not lose its ability to restore its shape even after a million compressions.
The insole is made of a combination of polyethylene, felt, natural and synthetic fabrics. This allows for comfort as well as insulation of the foot from below from moisture and cold.
To ensure perfect cushioning, the shoe`s upper is bonded to the sole using Double Injection technology. This is when the upper of the sneaker is inserted into a specially designed mold and then, under pressure, polyurethane foam is poured into it in layers.
