Victorinox is the largest European folding knife company. The familiar Victorinox (VICTORINOX) came to us in 1921. And it happened from two unrelated events. The first is the name of the mother of the founder of the company Victorinox (Karl Elsenerome), who at that time died - Viktoria. And second, a scientific invention - stainless steel, abbreviated as "inox". The very same company Carl Elsener created in 1884. At that time, Karl had already worked in France and southern Germany, where he adopted with particular attention the experience of creating knives. And returning home to Switzerland at 24, he opened his own business. And as is often the case in pancake cooking, something went wrong. The association of Swiss knife-makers created by him could not create a worthy proposal, despite all the efforts. The project failed and, if not for family support, it would have remained in history. The Victorinox knife, created at the end of the 19th century, became an example, a standard, which deservedly earned its place in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Applied Arts in Munich for the exhibition of the best examples of modern industrial design. Victorinox products have been tested with dignity in all kinds of trips and expeditions on the Arctic ice of the North Pole, have visited Mount Everest, as well as in the rainforests of the Amazon. The company values its name very much and does not consider moving its production outside Switzerland in the future. All knife manufacturing operations take place at the Victorinox factory in the Swiss city of Ibach. Where today about one thousand people work. More than seventy thousand knives leave the assembly line every day, of which ninety percent are exported immediately.
