Rauch Precision's Sky Hawg is a highly adaptable, fully adjustable, autonomous aerial sniper mount designed to provide a stable shooting platform for the shooter.
The Sky Hawg was originally designed for the UH-1Y helicopter. Its design allows quick installation and disassembly, allowing the shooter to easily adjust the height and supports the gyroscopic stabilization system mounted on the rifle.
It installs in less than two minutes and can be dismantled in less than thirty seconds, allowing operations to be carried out at a fast pace.
The Sky Hawg provides more support than "free-firing" and is more durable than homemade rigs that require a lot of detail and lengthy set-up times. This cannot be done while the helicopter is operating without great risk to the helicopter's turbines.
Installation straps are made from high strength, low stretch, abrasion resistant 1" polyester.
The vertical straps are attached to the aircraft with twelve-jaw connectors and flat snap hooks.
Twelve jaw connectors are rated to 5,475 lbs.
The flat snap hooks are rated to 1,100 lbs with a breaking strength of 3,300 lbs.
The three ratchets have a working strength of 1,100 lbs and a breaking strength of 3,000 lbs.
The adjustable horizontal strap uses a stainless steel friction adapter and 1" welded D-rings.
All hardware is attached to a woven webbing with high strength, reinforced box stitching using bonded nylon thread.
This air rig is attached to the aircraft with cargo hooks and quick-release sling swivels, which are specially made for the aircraft.
