How do I know when it is time to replace a tourniquet?

The C-A-T® is a disposable medical device with no fixed expiration date, provided it remains unused, in protective packaging, and stored in a dry, dark, climate-controlled room. After use by the patient or authorized personnel and exposure to adverse conditions such as extreme temperatures, sand, dirt, etc., the product is considered unsuitable for further use.
To ensure that the harness is fit for use, in good condition, and ready to save a life, a visual inspection should be performed before each potential use:
Winches: check the winch to ensure that it is intact and functioning;
Self-adhesive tape: check the self-adhesive tape for signs of wear or loss of adhesion;
Rubbed edges: pay particular attention to fraying or mechanical damage;
Seams: make sure that threads are not broken; Seams: make sure that threads are not broken; Seams: make sure that threads are not torn.

Remember: C-A-T® is a single-use device. It cannot be reused after one use. Using a product that may not be in optimal condition is not worth risking your life.

For training purposes, there is a separate training version of the turnstile, which is specially designed for repeated use during practical training.
