This company has its own philosophy, it is difficult to understand for our person and our mentality, but having the right to life. This company produces products tailored primarily for civilian use. Civilian hidden wearing. The products, as they say, are extremely tactical in the entire classical sense of the term - materials, construction, functionality ... And the look is completely civilian, not attracting attention. It looks like an extremely simple product, a kind of little thing with the company, but with an extremely interesting filling inside. For those who need it. In the States, quite a few need it. Various employees, various law enforcement agencies, just enthusiastic civilians - the legislation and a lot of other things have more to do with it ... But we have not taken this approach. For many reasons, and largely due to the extremely small unknownness of this company and the low awareness of people about the products of this company. What needs to be fixed. And therefore today we will talk about the product Vertx EDC Commuter Sling.
Pretty claim item. Firstly, due to the form factor itself. This is a one-hole backpack with a volume of 23 liters. Extremely urban product, rather narrow specialization. Single-lap backpacks are not for everyone and not for every task. With serious loads, carrying a backpack on one strap turns into torture, and indeed torture. All that is higher than five to six kilograms is crushed shoulders, bloody traces and very interesting sensations. The design of the backpack, in principle, can withstand much greater loads, in this regard, the backpack is very reliable and durable - the materials used and the quality here are at a high level. But there is no convenience when carrying large weights. But this backpack has several serious advantages and a whole string of smaller advantages, which make it a really interesting model, of course, having the right to life.
In general, the first time a backpack falls into your hands, it makes a reliable impression. Two types of materials used (including the 500th Cordura), brand accessories from UTX, non-nameable, but not the worst zippers (they should be developed a little, at first they are quite tight), the active use of Hypalon is a bit of a gentlemanly chic, “expensive rich ”, but very bad. Reliable and comfortable.
Not the worst profiled back (profiling in the form of a company logo), rather soft, with mesh finish Airmesh - a fairly typical and quite comfortable solution. The back is made as a separate part and sewn to the body of the backpack at several points - this is quite convenient and this solution has several goals. Firstly, this is a kind of additional ventilation - the principle is the same as on frame backpacks, the space between the back and the load, air circulation, everything is clear and logical. Secondly, the possibility of transportation on the handle of a suitcase is convenient in a business trip when the backpack is taken as an extra for direct urban use. Thirdly, this is the ability to carry on the arm in a variant of light armor of the shield, if placed inside a ballistic protection, which will be discussed below. Quite an interesting back, a competent solution to the problem.
There is one strap for carrying the backpack, it is quite wide and soft, fastens to the backpack with the help of a fast-tex buckle (covered with an elastic strap) - this provides, inter alia, the ability to quickly reset the backpack. The strap is equipped with slings for fasteners, a decorative overlay made of a hipalon and a small universal loop of the same material, to which various small equipment can be attached. A fairly comfortable strap - in cases of medium and low load of the backpack (daily EDC city set, average travel set for several days), which allows you to quickly get to the backpack and its contents (simply by dragging it from the back to the chest; however, this can be avoided, additionally fixing the backpack to the body with the help of a side dismantled sling on the fastex), and in addition, freeing the shoulders for the use of weapons - this function is undoubtedly useful for the homeland of the backpack and the specifics there, but not for us.
The backpack has several carrying handles. Classical on the back, from a soft synthetic sling in two layers (not the best, I recommend to braid with a paracord), lateral, made with a sewn-in rigid element (this is more of a decorative element, however, it can also be used to carry the backpack or remove it when unloading, for example, from the car; in addition, it is convenient to cling to it to transfer the backpack to the chest) and the front, made of hipalon. The latter, by and large, can also be considered rather a decorative element, participating, however, in symbiosis with other structural elements, however, it is most often and most convenient to carry, take out and pull out / pull out a backpack with this handle.
The backpack has several compartments. The front compartment is a rather voluminous pocket (the volume is provided with the help of material folds), closed by a valve (has a small panel for fixing patches) and fastened with two zippers (zippers are protected from accidental or intentional unfastening with the help of elements from the hip-hop with buttons) and having inside the organizational panel of Molle cells, on which, if necessary, you can fix a variety of pouches. Part of the cells outside is sheathed with Velcro for fixing a variety of patches. For quick access to it, the valve has a loop from the sling, pulling for which you can provide a simple opening of the compartment. This panel, if necessary, can also act as the external design of a backpack - if necessary, the valve on which the pocket is fastened can be folded up and hidden in a special compartment (which, if necessary, can also be used to store something, for example, documentation) . This achieves the variability of the appearance of the backpack and the variability of its use. In addition, two compression ties are hidden in this compartment, which are fixed to the sides of the backpack with metal anodized hooks and are necessary for fixing voluminous things, for example, thick insulation or moisture protective layers of clothing.
The next compartment of the backpack has lateral access with a zipper (all zippers are equipped with bright grips made of synthetic slings). This compartment, like all subsequent ones, has a lining made of light (to facilitate the handling of contents in the dark, since it is more convenient to do this against a light background), a fleecy material that allows you to attach a variety of inserts, pouches, organizers and holsters with a Velcro mount. This office has a small office organizer and a zipper pocket with a plastic carabiner inside for fixing various small valuables, such as keys. Quite convenient and practical, an excellent compartment, which is most often used to carry a variety of necessary small things.
The third compartment is designed to carry electronics - a tablet or laptop of suitable dimensions (up to 15 inches). It has a rigid wall made of hard rough plastic (a sheet of plastic can be removed if desired, access is provided with a zipper; if necessary, it can be replaced with a Kevlar bag or other hard protection) and a sling on a fastex for fixing the electronics. In addition, this compartment is equipped with two pockets that are fastened with a Velcro fastener - for storing a variety of things, accessories and electronics, such as a wallet, passes, medical stowages, navigators, and other necessary and useful trifles. It has a loop for fixing the hydration system or radio station, as well as a covered hole for driving the tube or antenna. Pretty practical.
The last compartment of the backpack opens completely, in a suitcase and fastens with two zippers, one of which is equipped with a large branded puller-grip with Velcro, which can act as a tag. It also has a hard plastic back wall (the plastic is different from that used in the previous section, it is smoother and softer; however, it supports the back very well and provides a stiff back to the backpack), which can also be replaced with protective elements of suitable sizes. Thanks to another sheet of plastic, the contents of the compartment appear to be between two sheets of plastic - this provides increased reliability and protection of its contents. By default, this is the weapons compartment, which is suitable for carrying weapons of suitable dimensions (PP, small-sized assault rifles, holster pistols), but it can also be used for utilitarian purposes. In addition, when opening this compartment completely, if there are protective elements inside, instead of plastic sheets, the backpack turns into a light protective shield or ersatz body armor. It is also quite useful, albeit controversial for our latitudes.
In general, this is a fairly stylish, functional, reliable and durable product. It is quite controversial in its functionality, you need to get used to it in view of not the most standard form factor, access to content, way of wearing. It is quite controversial in its price format and purpose, but what obviously cannot be argued about is that it is a good city backpack. Addictive, controversial, terribly expensive, which is why it is not always available or suitable for different jobs, but it has the right to life. It can be safely recommended to many people who have the means to buy it and have a desire to buy it - but strictly for urban wear. The city is its path and it is strictly not recommended to take it outside the city. To do this, there are a bunch of other backpacks, which, perhaps, will be discussed later.
