Depending on the combat tasks, the type of weapon and the individual characteristics of the fighter, weapon belts can be single-point, two-point or three-point. Some models can be transformed: for example, a single-point belt can be turned into a two-point belt, etc. We talk about each type using specific models as an example.

Single point slings

Forms a loop with a carabiner, which allows the rifle to be worn around the neck or shoulder. The weapon is attached to a sling with a sling and hangs down, being freely accessible. This type provides the user with manoeuvrability — thus, the weapon can be quickly transferred from one shoulder to the other when changing the aiming point. Not intended for missions where active movement is required, because the dangling weapon will interfere.

Examples of single-point weapon belts

Magpul MS3 GEN 2 Sling

M-Tac Single Point Elastic

FMA MA3 Multi-Mission Single Point/2 Point Sling

Two-point slings

Classic belt with two attachment points. When carrying, the weapon is behind the back or on the chest in a diagonal position. Two-point belts do not cover the chest area and are convenient for long-term transitions, but are not designed for sudden fire contacts. Manufacturers are increasingly resorting to combined models that transform into a single-point belt.

Examples of two-point weapon belts

Shadow Tech SS Loophole Sling

Blue Force Gear Vickers ONE Sling

Rothco Deluxe Tactical 2-Point Sling

Three-point slings

Such belts are designed to provide maximum comfort when carrying weapons in a position of increased combat readiness and significantly increase the speed of handling weapons. Thus, the belt allows you to instantly transfer the weapon from the "patrol" mode to the "contact" mode and vice versa. Suitable for long rifles and full-size automatic weapons.

Examples of three-point weapon belts

A-line T2 Automatic Three-point

M-Tac 3-point

A-line T2M Automatic Three-point

The choice of a weapon belt is influenced by a number of factors — these are the characteristics of combat conditions, tasks and the specifics of the activity of each specific soldier. Therefore, it is important to consider these factors when choosing this weapon accessory. A good option would be a combined model — such a belt is suitable for several combat situations at once.
